 On June 19th, 2008, we released the second issue of our course Software Project Management Fundamentals. This time it was a real success - the training hall was full and we lacked enough chairs.

This time there was a big interest in project management theory and practices not only among software development companies but also among companies providing internet services, media companies, and even construction companies! We were very flattered at such interest.

The IIBA is an independent non-profit professional association serving the growing field of business analysis. It is a prestigious organization of professionals working on establishing and supporting of common standards and good practices in the area of business analysis. The Institute realizes its mission by developing the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) and by certifying professionals and education centers. CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) - the professional certificate issued by IIBA - is the only internationally recognized certificate in the BA field.

The initiative to form a Bulgarian chapter of the IIBA is motivated by the desire of the Bulgarian business analysts to unite in a professional society to work for the development and the distribution of knowledge and for establishing the business analysis as valuable and prestige profession in Bulgaria.

RammSoft is a long-time supporter of the idea to recognition of the profession of the business analyst in Bulgaria as well as to create a professional society of the people working in the software development area. The first software project management course, organized by RammSoft took part on March 13, 2008. We are very happy that the people who came to this event were real professionals - senior developers and project managers with solid practical experience, looking for answers to the questions they face in their daily work and for ways to improve, to be more effective, and to bring their projects to success.

We had participants from Bankservice, (a group of four people!), Nemetschek Bulgaria, AG Capital, VMWare, Vereo, Land Data Center, Nextborn, Weiss Profil and Consult.bg. We are extremely grateful to the colleagues of Bankservice. Apparently, the company takes the issue of the professional development and education of their employees very seriously, which is a sign of professional maturity.

Although our hosts provided us with a room transformed from a tavern (”mehana” in Bulgarian) to a lecture hall we succeeded in creating a comfortable atmosphere and didn’t pay much attention to the dark walls and the traditional tapestries which were the only decoration in the hall.
