The First Software Project Management Course In Pictures

By admin | September 27, 2007

Well, we did our first course on Software Project Management and we feel it was successful - we had a great audience - software professionals of different age and experience but with strong desire to improve. They participated with great interest and were actively asking questions on all the topics discussed. It made us believe that we are on the right path and there is a significant interest among the software community in learning the art and the science of the project management.

Here are some pictures the organizers took for us:

Audience-1
Although our hosts provided us with a room transformed from a tavern (”mehana” in Bulgarian) to a lecture hall we succeeded in creating a comfortable atmosphere and didn’t pay much attention to the dark walls and the traditional tapestries which were the only decoration in the hall.
Audience-2
The main lecturer Mihail Mihaylov (Mike Ramm) of RammSoft was warmly welcomed and he presented a lot of theoretical information, practical tips, and real-life examples of good and bad practices of software project management.
Mike-1
His unique presenting style and attractive stage performance made the audience real fans of his.
Mike-2
The second lecturer - Maya Mihaylova of Vereo did her first public performance as a professional speaker but she did well. Her personal experience of being a woman leading software developers was the most intriguing part of her presentations.
Maya-1
There was a hot discussion after each presentation. Both lecturers tried to answer the participants’ questions and to provoke their creativity in seeking the right answers by themselves.
Lecturers-1
Sometimes the discussions couldn’t end within the planned time and they continued outside the hall during the coffee breaks.
Mike-3
The last day the course finished with a practical exercise with MS Project in the NASD’s (the organizer’s) lab in Varna.
Audience-4
The course was very intensive and everyone got tired. A lot of information passed along and a lot of discussions were made. Nevertheless, all the participants were happy to learn something new and useful in their jobs and we went home satisfied for being able to help them do their jobs better.

We believe that this tradition will continue and we’ll be able to establish a strong and devoted community of professional software project managers.
